Billy Rosano (Pastor)
Billy Rosano serves as the senior pastor of Grace Bible Church in Brandon, Florida. Billy graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary and has pastored in Delaware for over 9 years prior to coming to GBC in 2014.
Doug Shirley (Pastor)
Billy came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 21. Originally from Maryland, he joined the Air Force, met Traci, and by God’s grace was able to convince her to marry him. They now have five delightful children. While in the Air Force, Billy recognized God’s call to full-time ministry. His vision is driven by a desire to worship God, preach the gospel, and lead the beloved saints at Grace Bible Church to walk as disciples of Jesus Christ in every area of life.
His highest aspiration is that the earth would be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas (Hab. 2:14).
Over the years, Billy taught history at a local university and also taught a Community Greek class. His enjoyment of both history and languages continues to this day. He is also thrilled that his children are now getting old enough to join him on the tennis court.
Doug Shirley is a native-born Floridian from the Tampa/Brandon area and has spent the majority of his life there. He became a follower of Jesus Christ by His grace in 1981. His dearest friend and wife, Terrye, is also native to Brandon. They have been blessed with two sons, one daughter, and one daughter-in-law: Paul (b. 1983) Steve (b. 1987), Grace
(b. 2004), and Elyse (married Paul in 2005). Doug believes that being a husband and father has been and is a great responsibility as well as his greatest joy.
After Terrye and Doug were married they moved to Chattanooga, TN where Doug went to school at Tennessee Temple University. It was there that he received his degree in Pastoral Studies.
Currently, Doug is a Captain with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue where he has been a fire fighter since 1989. In addition to that, he also serves as the department’s chaplain where God has given him many opportunities to minister the gospel to his fellow fire fighters and their families.
Doug considers that ministering to this local body as one of its pastor-elders is a great privilege and considers it a humbling experience to be entrusted as one of the servant-leaders of this church. How exciting it is to see lives change and followers of Christ mature as we build up one another. God has given Doug a passion for His Word, and he desires that the people of Grace Bible Church grow through the study of God’s Word. Doug prays that in this local church the name of Jesus will be magnified in everything that church does.
